About Hearthwood
At Hearthwood Pets, we share our home with two cats and a Cavoodle who inspired the way this store came to life.
Our ginger cat, Juju, began struggling with food sensitivities from a young age, which made us pay much closer attention to what we were feeding at home. We started exploring single-protein options through an elimination diet, and that was when we started with freeze-dried foods. We loved how simple they were: real ingredients, minimal processing, easy to feed, and something our pets genuinely enjoyed.

Living in Western Australia, we often wished there were more local shops dedicated to freeze-dried pet food and thoughtfully chosen pet products. Imagining a place where people could explore healthy, high-quality products and pick up something special on the way home, ready to surprise their furry family members waiting at the door. Hearthwood Pets was born from that vision.
So from the very beginning, we envisioned Hearthwood as something beyond a pet store. We hope it becomes a welcoming part of the neighbourhood, a place where people can meet, connect, and celebrate the animals who bring so much love into our lives.
As much as we love this space, we hope it can also bring joy, comfort, and beautiful moments to you and your beloved furry friends. Caring for them enriches our homes and reminds us that coming back to a wagging tail or a soft purr is one of the simplest, most profound joys.

Alan
The guy behind the scene. Working hard all day & night. (No choice.)
A professional software engineer by trade, now specialises in meat cutting, kitchen duties, equipment repairs, and convincing ten cardboard boxes to fit into a commercial bin that definitely has no room left.
Claims he's leaving early to study animal nutrition. We trust him.
Meet & Greet Officer
Zaozao
Breeder said she's a calm girl - she's not.
Zaozao loves customers, and customers love her back. She takes her role very seriously and believes everyone who walks through the door came specifically to see her.
She's school educated but may still eat people's fingers.
We're making progress.
Treat Inspector
Juju
The first child.
Juju was adopted from Cat Heaven and is the reason Hearthwood exists in the first place. He's a sensitive boy who has the gentlest behaviour and a very soft heart.
His standards are high, his opinions are strong, and he only approves the best yummy treats.
(no need to work)
Prince
Prince is too cool to have a job title.
We pay all the bills, so he can have the place.
